Letters Live presented its first season of shows in 2015 at the iconic Freemasons’ Hall, one of the finest Art Deco buildings in Britain, with Benedict Cumberbatch & Louise Brealey in starring roles.
Cumberbatch and Brealey took to the stage for each of the nights, reading letters alongside a diverse array of world class performers including luminaries from the stage, screen, music, art and literary worlds. A full listing of those who appeared during that week of shows can be seen on the page opposite including Paul Ryan who performed offstage the Voice of God for each event.
Unfortunately, and especially for those people who only had tickets for the night in question, the evening of Wednesday the 1st April had to be cancelled due to a major underground fire in Holborn. This act of God resulted in the Freemasons’ Hall and all the other West End theatres in the area having to turn away many disappointed people that night.
