Letters Live made its debut appearance at the Edinburgh International Festival on Sunday 27th August 2017, presenting two knock-out shows in the city’s historic and beloved King’s Theatre to close the festival’s 70th year.

Elif Shafak is an internationally acclaimed writer. Her novel 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 2019. At Letters Live she has read letters by, among others, Joan Baez and Katherine Mansfield.

Ellie Bamber is a theatre, television and film actress. She has regularly appeared at Letters Live, giving memorable readings from a wide range of letter writers, including Janis Joplin, Lewis Carrol and three Elvis fans.
